Heb. 4:14

"Since we then have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession."

This is not an insight so much as a simple observation. Lewis and Tolkien and many others before them noted many similarities of pagan religions to Christianity: stories of the god that was born a human, or the god who died. These truths must have come to them from the gospel preached by Noah to his sons, truth that became diluted as people fell away from God. Another way false religions reflect the truth, and I believe this is true of them all with one notable exception, is the use of priests. Every religion, true or false, recognizes the necessity for a mediator by having priests to represent the laity before God. The only exception I know of is Islam ... the easy grace of an unholy god requires no mediator.
